Emerald Energy From Waste Inc. recovers thermal energy from solid non-hazardous waste from municipal (MSW) and industrial, commercial and institutional (IC&I) sources. By utilizing this recovered thermal energy, we generate electricity and steam, powering our local community. With a capacity to produce up to 9 megawatts (MW) of electricity through waste thermal treatment, our facility has the capability to supply energy to approximately 6,000 households.

For over a decade, our facility has served as the exclusive provider of steam, a vital energy source, to a neighboring paper mill. This eco-conscious mill takes pride in recycling up to 150,000 tonnes of used paper every year, relying on our sustainable steam supply to fuel its manufacturing processes. By working in harmony, we are paving the way for a greener future, where environmental sustainability and industrial productivity go hand in hand.
